Eligibility Criteria

(a) Route via Master's / Equivalent Foreign Qualification
🎓

A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master's degree programme after a 3-year bachelor's degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.

Equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution and the degree accorded equivalence by Association of Indian Universities.

(b) Relaxation & Direct-Entry Provision

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the policies of Central/State Government declared from time to time.

Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. The same 5% relaxation as above may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per policies of Central/State Government declared from time to time.

Admission Process

The eligible candidates are required to pass an entrance examination conducted by the office of Controller of Examinations of the university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC / ST / OBC / differently abled category and EWS category) as per the syllabi declared by the university.

Candidates qualified and having a valid score in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET / GATE / CEED / GPAT and similar National level tests, as applicable, are exempted from the entrance examination.

All the candidates qualifying in the entrance examination / national tests shall appear for a personal interview.

The final merit list will be based on the performance in the entrance examination / national tests and the interview, with a weightage of 70% to the entrance examination/national tests and 30% to the personal interview, with preference being given to those qualified in national tests.

The Registrar's office shall publish the list of selected candidates, giving the schedule of admissions.

The completed application form along with relevant documents can be emailed to admissions@mitvpu.ac.in, along with an application fee of ₹2,000/- payable through the link provided in the application form. The last date for receiving applications with the fee is 31st August 2026, up to 5 PM.

You can apply for full-time PhD programs for Academic Year 2026-27 at MIT Vishwaprayaag University in the areas of Computer Science, Electronics, and Pharmacy.

Yes. Candidates are eligible for direct admission under the advanced research pathway after completing a Bachelor’s degree of 4 years (8 semesters) if they secure at least 75% aggregate marks (or equivalent grading).

Candidates who have a qualified and valid score in any of the national-level examinations such as UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, CEED, or GPAT are exempted from the written entrance examination of the university. However, they are required to attend the final Personal Interview.

The final merit list is prepared with 70% weightage for the written entrance examination (or scorecard of national-level examination) and 30% for the Personal Interview.
